this scene is a conceptually sound one. the whole premise is like a magician pulling colored magic tricks out of his opponents. in the scene itself it is easy to understand why he pulls the curtain down so that he can fire his magic wand with full power on it. yes it looks like a magician but that is only part of the magic.
